My name is Ben i am a miniature painter and tech enthusiast from Germany.
I started my Warhammer journey at the end of the ’90s, finally ending it by selling all my miniatures in 2010. During this whole period, I never did anything seriously. I just painted a few minis in the first couple of months. Then other hobbies became more important and I finally sold all my minis in 2010, after storing them in my basement for almost eight years.
As the years passed, I lost interest in other hobbies and MMO’s consumed half of my time as a young adult. I then started a career in the tech industry.
This brought me to a turning point in my life when the Coronavirus pandemic started. Banished from the office to working from home, I stuck to my daily routines for the first couple of months.
I got up at 7 a.m.
Work until 4–5 p.m.
Log in to my MMO account at 5 p.m.
Go to sleep at 11 p.m.
After a couple of months, I realized that I needed to spend less time on my computer. There was this strange feeling in recent years that I was missing something in my non-working hours, namely a non-digital activity. However, being addicted to fantasy lore and sci-fi, it took me a long time to finally realise that I already had a hobby that would fill the gap left by quitting computer games.
And here I am, back in the Warhammer hobby after almost two decades without touching a mini!
What motivated me to start this site?
The community has grown, and knowledge can easily be transferred all over the world. Through my content, I want to share my failures, mistakes and successes throughout the miniature painting discovery process, and become part of this knowledge-sharing network that has grown during my absence!
